Peer Review Process

Glossema: Journal of Linguistics Perspectives is committed to maintaining high standards of academic integrity through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. To ensure a timely and transparent publication process, we adhere to the following workflow:

1. Initial Screening (2 Weeks) Upon submission, the Editorial Board conducts a preliminary check to ensure the manuscript adheres to the journal's focus, scope, and template guidelines. Additionally, a plagiarism check is performed using Turnitin. Authors will be notified of the initial decision (whether the manuscript proceeds to review or is desk-rejected) within two weeks of submission.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review (Approx. 8-10 Weeks) Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two anonymous reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The reviewers' identities remain concealed from the authors, and vice versa. This evaluation process focuses on the novelty, methodology, and contribution to the field of linguistics.

3. Decision and Revision Based on the reviewers' recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted without changes.

  • Revisions Required: The author must revise the manuscript according to the reviewers' comments (Minor or Major revisions) within a specified timeframe.

  • Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to significant flaws or lack of novelty.

4. Language Quality Policy As a linguistics journal, we place a premium on language quality. Manuscripts that are linguistically weak, difficult to understand, or contain excessive grammatical errors will be immediately rejected (Desk Reject) before reaching the peer review stage. Authors are strongly advised to perform professional proofreading prior to submission to facilitate the review process.
